  • The teaching learning process will be followed with ethical principles, values and positive attitude resulting humanitarian approach.
  • The education of nursing and health sciences will remain par with international quality and standards pertaining to revised traditional and innovative teaching learning methodologies including implications of nursing theories, research approach, evidence and competency based learning etc.

    AIM:
  • Prepare graduates undertaking role and responsibilities as professional, competent nurses providing comprehensive nursing services with holistic approach within ethical and legal obligations at hospital and community health settings. They are also expected to be efficient teacher, manager, supervisor, researcher and leader in clinical and public health settings.
  • OBJECTIVES - The undergraduate nursing students:
  • Applies knowledge from physical, biological, medical and behavioral sciences including alternative systems for provision of nursing care to individuals, families and communities.
  • Learns life style and other factors, which affect health of individuals and groups.
  • Provide basic and advance nursing management by applying nursing process approach.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making decisions in all situations in order to provide quality care.
  • Utilize the latest trends and technologies in providing health care.
  • Provide promotive, preventive and restorative health care services.
  • Practice within the framework of code of ethics and professional conduct and acceptable standards of practice within the legal boundaries.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals and groups and members of the health team in order to promote effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical/ community health settings.
  • Participate effectively as members of the health team in health care delivery system.

    AIM:
  • Prepare postgraduates undertaking role and responsibilities as professional competent nurses at specialty and advance levels by means of nurse’s practioner, consultant, academician, administrator, leader, enter- pruner, researcher etc. in a wide variety of professional setting.
  • OBJECTIVES - The Postgraduate Nursing Students:
  • Utilize/apply the concepts, theories and principals of nursing science.
  • Demonstrate advance competence in practice of nursing
  • Practice as a nurse specialist.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and function effectively as nurse educator and manager.
  • Demonstrate skill in conducting nursing research, interpreting and utilizing the findings from health related research.
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and effect change in nursing practice and in the health care delivery system.
  • Establish collaborative relationship with members of other disciplines.
  • Demonstrate interest in continued learning for personal and professional advancement.
