How to reach Ahmednagar


Ahmednagar is historical city founded 500 yrs ago by Nizam Ahmed Shah. Ahmednagar is a district place and is very well connected to different parts of the state and the country by Rail and Road.


It is 112 kms from Pune and 110 kms from Aurangabad on Pune-Aurangabad highway.

Trains : Ahmednagar (ANG) is connected by broad gauge to various major cities in India. The computerized railway booking facilities are available.

Buses : Ahmednagar city is connected by bus to almost states and cities in India. In addition to Luxury buses, Sleeper Coach buses are also available for connecting to various cities in India.

Air : To reach Ahmed-
nagar by Air planes, there are airports near by the city i.e.

Shree Saint Sai Baba – Shirdi (70 Kms)
Amongst the places of deep belief and faith in India, falls Shirdi the place of Saint Sai Baba. The devotees and followers of Sai Baba are spread all over the world and hence the place had attained importance. A small village in Ahmednagar district Shirdi, had acquired a lot of fame and followres for Sant Shree Sai Baba. Sai Baba attained Samadhi on Dassera day in 1918. Sai Baba preached at Shirdi all his life and renewned people’s faith in God. Devotees from every faith through here all year round to pay their respects to his memory. Khandoba Mandir, Samadhi of Shree Sai Baba, Dwarkamai mosque, Mhasoba temple all these places are within a periphery of 1km and can be covered on foot.

Shree Shani Shingnapur ( 40 Kms)
The village has no doors. No theft ever occurs here, as the Lord Shani, the guardian deity of the village is always there to mete out instant punishment. So claim the residents of Shani-Shinganapur and this claim has become its claim to fame. Unlike other pilgrimage centres, devotees here can perform puja or abhishek or other religious rituals themselves.

Mohata Devi

Shree Ganesh – Siddhatek
On the greatest mountain Siddhatek which is located on the bank of river Bhima & surrounded by forest and trees. God Vishnu did hard penance when he was in great difficulty. He got a boon from Lord siddheshwar Ganesh who is a father or creator of ‘Panchamahabhuta’ (the five elements namely Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Sky) and killed the two demons Madhu & Kaitabha

Shree Kanifnath – Madhi
Samadhi place of Shri Kanifnath one of the nine great Nath persons. The Samadhi is in beautiful stones. The yatra is observed during the festival of holi to Gudipadva. The nomadic tribe-Gopal has enjoys the honour of firing the sacred holi at this place. The community courts of the tribes administered justice and solve the family disputes. The bazar of dnkeys is held during the yatra. The place madhi is 51kms away from Ahmednagar towards east. We can reach to Madhi from Nivdunge village on Nagar Pathardi road.

Mula Dam
The biggest dam in Ahmednagar city. It is named as ‘Dnyaneshwarsagar Dam’ Dam is constructed on the river Mula. The storage capacity of dam is 26 TMC. Drinking water to Ahmednagar city comes through this dam. The command areas of this dam is Rahuri, Newasa, Shevgaon and Pathardi taluka of Ahmednagar District. It is very near to Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidhyapeeth. Near the dam there isa a beautiful rest house many tourist visit dam site during the period of rainy season.

The peak of kalsubai
The peak of Kalsubai is situated in Nagar district. This is apex, highest peak of the mountain range of Sahyadri. It is a dream of every sincere mountaineer to climb it at least once. Its hight is almost 5500 feet.

Taluka Newasa, Ahmednagar where Dnyaneshwari was written.

Datta Temple, Devgad
Around the temple there is park withlots of tree, there is Pravara river behind the temple. Boating is also available. 70 kms away from Ahmednagar. It is on Nagar Aurangabad Road (Devgad Phata)
